	What is the difference between Reflective, Transflective and Transmissive Displays?

	A： Reflective: Found in calculators and inexpensive digital watches, reflective polarization does not generate its own light source and instead must rely on an external light. Bonding a smooth silver piece of aluminum foil to the rear polarizer that reflects ambient light creates the reflection. Backlighting is not used with a reflective LCD. Transmissive: Opposite of reflective, transmissive LCD’s require a backlight in order to see the displayed characters. For the technology to work, a light source must be located behind the LCD panel so that the light can shine through the display. At the same time, pixels are activated allowing the light to pass through the back as well as reflecting light from the front. Can be found in Medical Devices, Test & Measurement, Automotive Audio and Laptop Computers. Transflective: The most common polarization type of LCD’s, transflective can be found in Cellular Phones, PDAs and GPS. Backlights of Transflective displays are bonded to the rear polarizer, enabling light to pass through the back, as well as reflecting light from the front.



	What is the definition of Duty Rate and Bias Rate?

	A： Duty Rate, also known as multiplex rate, is the fraction of the total frame time that each row of the LCD is addressed. BBias Ratio, also known as the Voltage margin, is the ratio of Von (voltage on pixels that are currently addressed to the ON-state) divided by Voff (voltage on pixels that are not currently addressed).

	A： Viewing angle can be defined as the area which, when looking from left, right, above and below the display can be seen clearly. Moving outside the viewing angle results in an inferior image. The best viewing angles can be found in High Quality TFT Displays then Active TFT displays followed lastly by Passive Displays, whereby the user must be nearly directly in front of the display to see the image.

	What is the difference between TN, STN, FSTN & DSTN?

	A： TTN : Twisted Nematic are mostly seen in Character Modules. TN is one of the original fluid technologies used in LCD’s and now primarily used in digital calculators, digital wristwatches, digital clocks and in some Caller ID boxes STN:Super Twisted Nematic fluid technology provides two distinct advantages: STN consumes minimal power while also having a lower material cost. FSTN:Film Super Twist Nematic displays, being the most expensive fluid technology and also widely used by many companies, provides the best contrast ratio as well as the best viewing angle. DSTN:Double Super Twisted Nematic Display is designed to correct the color shift in STD displays (producing a black and white image) with the use of a second LCD layer.

SGD's China production center is located in Gaobu Town, Dongguan City, a hi-tech business intensive city in Guangdong Province, China. Its convenient location, disciplined quality policy, and completely efficient production process bring SGD many advantages to compete in the LCD industry. Currently two TN, one STN lines are fully functioning for the LCD panel production. On the LCD module lines, Dongguan plant is equipped with COB (Chip-on-Board), TAB (Tape Automated Bonding), and COG (Chip-on-Glass) production capabilities.
